L'album "Miniatures" proposent 15 brèves vignettes qui oscillent dans un climat zen et révèlent des mélodies pastorales et électroniques. Après avoir rapidement établi une ambiance et une cadence, chaque titre se fond dans le suivant ; c'est une structure qui ressemble étrangement au hardcore, avec ses petits breaks et sa durée courte. Les arpeggiateurs de synthétiseurs et de guitares montent et descendent d'un pas assuré tout en explorant des variations subtiles qui portent les chansons jusqu'à leur fin. C'est rafraîchissant, une utilisation non pop d'une palette de sons nouveaux. Bien pour réfléchir, dormir, se mouvoir ou une combinaison des trois.

Miniatures finds Mascara Snake crafting 15 brief vignettes that resemble clips lifted. After quickly establishing a mood and cadence, each track fades into the next before allowing the listener a chance to process what’s happened. It’s a structure that oddly resembles hardcore, complete with tiny breakdowns and all. Synth chords and arpeggiating guitar rise and fall at a steady pace, while exploring subtle variations carry the song through until its gentle ending. It’s a refreshing, non-pop use of the ear-friendly palate of sounds that Mascara Snake has selected. Good for listening while thinking, sleeping, commuting, or some combination of the three.
